TLILIC0004 Licence to operate an order picking forklift truck
In order to operate an order picking forklift truck, you must hold a LO High Risk Work Licence.
The TLILIC0004 Licence to operate an order picking forklift truck course provides the formal training and accredited assessment which will allow you to apply for a Queensland HRW Licence for Order Picking Forklift Trucks - LO.
Order Picking Forklift Trucks, otherwise known as Order Pickers or Stock Pickers, are generally used to move stock in warehouses. In an Order Picking Forklift the operators controls are incorporated in the load carriage and lifts the operator with the carriage. Order Picking Forklifts can be used in a range of warehouse environments from narrow aisle warehouses requiring turret trucks, to furniture warehouses requiring platform extensions.
This Order Picking Forklift Truck course is Nationally Recognised Training available to be run at your worksite warehouse anywhere around Brisbane, Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast.
This Order Picking Forklift training program is run over 3 days including Theory, Practical and Assessment. The course covers planning the work, preparing for the task including assessing hazards and risks, operating the order picking forklift truck to safely lift loads, and shutting down and securing the forklift.
This TLILIC0004 Licence to operate an order picking forklift truck training course has been developed in accordance with the licensing and assessment requirements of NOHSC:1006[2001].
Training includes both classroom-based learning and hands-on practical training with an order picking forklift truck.
Certification:
On successful completion of the theory and practical assessment, students will receive:

a Statement of Attainment for TLILIC0004 Licence to operate an order picking forklift truck nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework

a High Risk Work (HRW) Candidate Assessment Summary

Within 60 days of completing the course, participants will need to apply for a High Risk Work Licence through the Queensland Government, and pay a fee of $109.71. The Queensland Government High Risk Work Licence application process must be followed.
You will also be provided with all course materials, including a Learners Guide, Logbook and workbooks.

You must be at least 18 years old

Have basic English and Maths skills (to be able to identify and interpret workplace signs and apply yourself to the course material).
Assessment:
This Order Picking Forklift training course includes 2 days training and 1 day of assessment, where participants will be required to successfully demonstrate Workplace Health and Safety knowledge and practical skills.
‘Closed book’ written knowledge, calculation and practical skills will be assessed by WHS Accredited Assessor.

What is a LO Licence?
A LO High Risk Work Licence is required to operate an Order Picking Forklift Truck.
High Risk Work Licences are issued by WorkSafe Queensland (phone 1300 362 128). Once you have completed TLILIC0003 - Licence to operate a forklift truck training and assessment, you will need to apply online for a High Risk Work Licence, within 60 days.
What does a LO Licence cover?
A LO Licence covers Order Picking Forklift Trucks where the operators controls are lifted with the load carriage. A LO Licence does not include forklift trucks with a mast and elevated load carriage which is separated from operator controls in the truck base which require a LF High Risk Work Licence.
How do I apply for the LO High Risk Work Licence?
Once you complete the training and assessment of the TLILIC0004 Licence to operate an order picking forklift truck training course, you will be provided a High Risk Work (HRW) Candidate Assessment Summary.
You can then complete the WorkSafe Queensland online application for a new HRW Licence and pay the $109.71 application fee, within 60 days of successfully completing the Forklift course.
How long does a LO Licence last?
High Risk Work Licences must be renewed every 5 years.
How do you renew your HRW Licence?
You will receive a renewal notice from WorkSafe Queensland 4-6 weeks before your expiry date, and will need to follow the HRW Licence renewal process or you can call WorkSafe Queensland on 1300 362 128.
