Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) funding eligibility criteria for the CSQ 2025-26 Short Course Program is listed below. Participants must meet CSQ eligibility criteria, complete the application process and provide evidence to access CSQ funding.
The CSQ 2024-25 Short Course Program is for the period 1 October 2025 - 30 September 2026.
Do I qualify for CSQ funding?
You have NOT done the course before
Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident
OR
On a VISA with the right to work and study in Australia and employed in the Building and Construction Industry for 6 months or more
Building and Construction Worker
OR
Self employed
OR
Apprentice
OR
Unemployed less than 6 months
You are or have been actively and substantially involved in hands-on building or civil construction activities in the Queensland Building and Construction or Civil Construction industry doing:
-
construction, significant renovations and extensions of residential and commercial buildings
-
installation services for residential and commercial buildings such as electrical, plumbing, flooring, and interior installations
-
land development and site preparation for construction
-
works for civil infrastructure
-
works on a major infrastructure project
Other eligibility criteria
You have NOT had more than 8 short courses funded by CSQ between 1 Oct 2025 and 30 September 2026, including:

up to a maximum of 3 high risk work (HRW) units (with the exception of Asbestos units)
-
up to a maximum of 3 mobile plant operator units (eg units beginning with RIIMPO)
You are not seeking a Verification of Competency (VOC)
You are not enrolled and participating in a Queensland secondary school program (high school)
You are not a contracted Trainer and Assessor or existing worker of an RTO
You are not an employee of a Government Authority
