As an approved International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) Training Centre, HiReach Training delivers both IPAF Operator and Demonstrator training courses - providing in-depth knowledge, practical skills, and a strong emphasis on safety - ensuring that operators are well-equipped to respond effectively to any unexpected situations that may arise during operation, thereby minimizing risks to themselves and others on the job site.

Who is IPAF?

IPAF is a global organisation that develops and promotes training and safety standards for powered access equipment including EWPs and MCWPs.
IPAF is a not-for-profit organisation owned by its members, which include manufacturers, rental companies, distributors, contractors and users of powered access. IPAF has members in more than 80 countries. More About IPAF

What is a MCWP?

MCWPs are elevated work platforms that use a mast to raise and lower the platform. Unlike EWPs they are stationary, and can be free-standing to 20 m, after which they are tied in or anchored to the building to reach heights of over 250m.

A MCWPs unique rack and pinion design allows workers to be positioned at any height, regardless of weather, for jobs such as external maintenance or construction of structures. Not only can they be located at any height, but they can also be fabricated to fit any shaped structure.

Known for their safety, robust design, and ergonomic working height, mast climbers enhance efficiency by providing a stable movable platform which reduces work time and improves scheduling and sequencing of activities.

Courses available

HiReach Training offers the following 2 courses:

Operator Training

This course instructs an operator how to operate a MCWP safely, with full knowledge of the controls of the equipment. The candidate will also learn how to carry out pre-use/daily inspections and perform the emergency descent.

Demonstrator Training

This course instructs demonstrators, giving full knowledge on the operating commands of the equipment, and ensuring that they are able to perform an emergency descent, carry out pre-use/daily and weekly inspections and ensure that these take place. In addition, demonstrators are responsible for performing familiarisation to users and trained operators.
