Construction skills Queensland (CSQ) funding 2025-26 with HiReach Training

If you work in construction, are an apprentice, or are recently unemployed from building and construction industry, you may be eligible for Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) funding to help reduce the cost of training.

HiReach Training is proud to announce that we have once again received CSQ funding for 2025-26. This funding allows us to offer subsidized training to the building and construction industry. CSQ funding reduces the financial obstacle to training, making upskilling an affordable option for many people in the building and construction industry.

What is Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ)?

Construction Skills Queensland is an independent, not-for-profit, industry-funded body supporting employers, workers, apprentices, trainees in the building and construction industry. CSQ funding is paid to HiReach Training to save participants between 75% and 100% of course costs.

What is CSQ Funded?

HiReach Training receives funding from CSQ to provide training subsidies to the building and construction industry. HiReach Training offers a range of CSQ funded short courses, including Working Safely at Heights, Operate Elevating Work Platform, Telehandler, Confined Spaces and Gas Testing. Students can be funded for 8 Short courses including 3 high risk work and three mobile plant units of competency between 1 October 2025 - 30 September 2026.

Who is eligible for CSQ Funding?

CSQ defines an eligible worker as a worker, self employed worker, unemployed worker less than 6 months or Apprentice - who has not done the course before - and can demonstrate primary and substantial direct involvement in the:

• Queensland Building and Construction industry doing:

  • construction, significant renovations and extensions of residential and commercial buildings

  • installation services for interiors of residential and commercial buildings in associated trades; electrical, plumbing, flooring etc.

  • works on a major infrastructure project

• Queensland Civil Construction industry doing:

  • land development and site preparation for the purpose of construction

  • works for civil infrastructure

  • works on a major infrastructure project

Examples of eligible industries and roles for CSQ funding include air conditioning, bricklaying, carpentry, painting, plumbing, floor tiling, kitchen installation, electrical works, as well as land clearing for the development of infrastructure and civil infrastructure works.

There are also a range of industries and roles that are not eligible for CSQ funding so if you are maintaining or repairing existing structures and infrastructure to maintain their current condition, produce building materials or pre-fabricated structures offsite in a factory or workshop, if you are working on mobile plant machinery or mining or drilling then you would not be eligible for CSQ funding.

CSQ requires a range of evidence to be provided when you apply for CSQ Funding. Our application process involves:
