FAQs
What evidence do I need to supply?

In addition to proof of identity, you will be asked to provide evidence that you are an active, unemployed, cancelled apprentice, or in your first year out. This includes one (1) of the following:

  • Employer Apprentice Letter (Download Word template)

  • DESBT Commencement Letter

  • DESBT Completion Letter or Certificate of Completion, for Apprentices in their their first year out

  • DESBT Cancelled Apprentice Training Approval advice

CSQ do not accept a Training Contract or Training Plan as evidence.

If I'm eligible, do I have to pay the full course cost up front before I can get the subsidy reimbursement?

No!  Unlike other training organisations who charge you the full cost and reimburse the subsidy at a later date, we do not charge an up front fee. If you are an eligible apprentice or trainee there will be nothing to pay, as all courses with CSQ subsidies are fully funded under the apprentice program.

Is my Apprenticeship or Traineeship covered?

CSQ funding covers a list of recognised Apprenticeships and Traineeships.

What if I've finished my apprenticeship, can I still apply?

Yes! As long as you are in the first year out of your recognised apprenticeship or traineeship, you can still apply.

What if I'm doing my Apprenticeship or Traineeship through school, can I still apply?

Yes! Provided you are not getting funded from elsewhere for the same training course, and you are doing a recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship.

What if I'm unemployed after doing my Apprenticeship, can I still apply?

Yes! As long as you are in the first year out of your recognised apprenticeship or traineeship, you can still apply.

I am a cancelled Apprentice or Trainee, can I still apply?

Yes! If you are getting State Government funding to complete institution-based training (eg TAFE), and you are doing a recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship.
